Sometimes that really happens :)
But you might not know what you'll get when you cross the bridge...
It's been an eventful day. tired...
I have about 90 guests coming to my show! Getting really excited about it.
I am blessed.
Am I still fortunate?

OOPS I Did It Again....
Ya... I'm winner, 2 times champion. I was late again today, but I didn't oversleep!! Rilly rilly... I just thought my first show is 11am today, instead of 10:30.
So it's the same story la.. I rraaaannnn for my dear life from Newton MRT to Alliance Francaise (that's my warm-up), and quickly rushed into the dressing room and put my makeup on.
I was not expecting anything less than a stern warning 'cos Oops! I did it Again! The moment I arrived Jon Lum started laughing... then i was like.. why is he laughing? Really so funny meh....
Then I wanted to soundcheck, but Ben Opera Wong stopped me & suggested I should finish my makeup first... and so I did.
Then finally Hatta called me onto stage for my soundcheck. Something felt amiss at that point, 'cos the entire production team was in position. Fiona was up at the control booth at her lighting board, which usually doesn't happen during soundcheck. Shah/Riz (he can't decide which name to use fickle-minded la. hehe) the sound guy was at the control room of 'cos - but that's not unusual la. But then Seri & Yvette (backstage crew) were there too and Hatta was seated right smack in the auditorium with a digicam. Even Julian & Feri (musicians) were in their places.
Honestly speaking i felt quite PAISeH la. everyone waiting for me... so i wanted to quickly do my soundcheck and finish up my makeup asap... dun wanna delay any more time!
then suddenly.................... A SPOT came up on me (again!) and Julian & Feri started playing the theme song for Channel 8's STAR Search "Wo Fei De Zui Gao Zui Yuan..." & my damn spontaneous cast (they r a bunch of jokers!) sashayed out from side stage along with the music, and presented me with another award!!! This time, I even have a crown and a balloon sculpture whahahahahahahaha.
Anyway, my cast/crew/production team obviously think my story-telling skill is damn bad, so they actually video-ed the entire sequence. it's freaking ridiculous & funny lor.... I shall upload it..... Thank You Very Nice!
The "Great Conspiracy Award" goes to the entire MoonBird cast/crew/production team!!!

If Only Everything Was Much Simpler...
Sometimes, I think life is really tough. It gives you some, and it takes some away from you. Why does it always have to be a crossroad? Can't things just be simpler, purer?
I am in a state of limbo - sometimes i get like that. So many things happen to me and leaves me baffled and bamboozled sometimes.
Went for a short film audition today, and the EP/Director (name's Sunny. She's a nice lady. Introspective, & precise.) asked me "Do you believe in God?"
In short - I do.
God, I still believe. Please, believe me.
love, faith, hopes & dreams.

Assk Me What My Name Is
So, I have not written this but I suppose it will be global information sooner or later; so i might as well write about it myself.
It's about my behind, my rear, my posterior. It has been a huge (cough cough sputter pun intended sputter) part of my life & it seems to attract as much attention, or more attention, as I do. Basically I am always the 'butt' of the joke, geddit geddit? My rear end has a life of its own. I strongly believe it will get famous one day, perhaps even more famous than me. It's often been asked if it has a name. No, not A name. but NAMES.
Here are some nominations made by some of my very funny frens har har har.
1. Trey Ho He Hong:
Left Cheek: Justin, Right Cheek: Britney
2. Waikit Kun (pronounced as can't) Spell:
Left Cheek: Africa, Right Cheek: Asia
Any more contenders?

Judee receives Star Awards from Moonbird cast...
so, i overslept today & reported at 10:10 am for a 10:30 am show. amazing right.
sorry brian... sorry hatta... sorry cast & crew... *sheepish grin*
anyway that's not the point... the point is, my loveaable, indispensible, all-humoured Moonbird cast decided to make the most out of my 'lateness' and give me hell... they r SO ANYHOW lor i tell u.
i finally arrived at alliance francaise and raaannn into dressing room, only to be recieved with stupendous applause from the cast. They have been awaiting my arrival yes. And of cos i was greeted as a Guest of Honour would, in any important event. They complimented their thundering applause with "Ying Qi!! Ying Qi" (that's my new Chinese name - did I forget to mention?), screaming like those crazy fans standing outside Mediacorp, except they were right beside me.
I really couldn't concentrate on rushing my makeup for the 10:30am show lor. By that time I was already doubled over with laughter. That stupid Trey Ho He Hong, with his deadpan expression came over to me and kept screaming my new/stage name and presented me with a PLASTIC cup, which was supposed to be the STar Award!
As if that was not enough, Hatta (Stage Manager) walked into the dressing room with a bunch of fake sunflowers that had mini fake eyes on them (wahahahhaahha) & presented them to me. LOL. my sickening cast/crew. FYI, i am laughing as I am typing this. I needed to blog it lor so dat i can never forget this incident.
So it's 10:15 already and I had to go soundcheck. So i went into theatre and Julian (Moonbird pianist) was already parked in position, behind his beloved keyboard, and started playing the Mediacorp cHannel 8's Star Awards theme song. I almost tripped on the stairs while going up to stage!
The theme song acted as a signal for the cast and in they came pouring into theatre and they started the whole mad applauding & screaming again "ying qi!! ying qi!!". Fiona (the lighting operator) even put a SPOT on me and Seri (our backstage crew, dresser, cleaner, dishwasher, props-maker, laundry-person, etc etc etc BSBH one la she) walked onto stage to present me with the fake sunflowers again. whahahahaa.
I will never forget this day. i have never been so happily late before lor.
TODAY I DECLARE THAT MOONBIRD CAST/CREW IS THE BEST!!!
Come & watch Moonbird! @ Alliance Francaise Theatre till 7th June.

Missing Mr L. - My VJC days...
Received an email from my VJC TSD teacher few days ago. He replied to my invitation to "Just Judee" mini concert/showcase (just to plug this in again, it's June 15th @ Timbre Substation, S$15 per ticket, 730pm to 930pm), and yes he will be coming!! I am so so delighted. He will be bringing his wife too. Mr & Mrs Lofty :)
Hey Tsdians who are reading this, esp my batch one. Lofty will be there so will seat you people around him ok! :)
Mr L also mentioned in his email that he will be leaving SG for good in December (shock shock horror horror). I was very sad to hear that lor!!! Althou' I don't see him much, AT ALL, he will always have a special place in my heart.
Mr L was the one who introduced me to the world of the magical theatre, & out of this harsh and sometimes deluded reality. He taught me what theatre really is, and should, and gave me valuable lessons on philosophy of life, of living, of expression, of liberation, of practising my art. Before knowing Lofty, I never questioned my existence. I had a really tough time coming to terms with this new perspective, and at that time i was thinking "this bloody CAO ANGMOH! Come to my country and twist my brains here & there!" so for quite sometime i really despised and detested him lor. But of 'cos all that changed soon after and I truly begin to understand that there is a much bigger world out of my immediate surroundings/environment. My life changed from that point onwards.... and as they say 'the rest is history'....
I remember sitting alone in the VJC canteen, alone, eating my favourite Nasi Briyani that was simply simply fabulous la. i put on 7 kg during my 1st 2 weeks in VJ lor! ANyway, to carry on w my story...
I remember sitting alone in the VJC canteen eating my Favourite Nasi Briyani & Harris comes along. Harris is this other cao angmoh who teaches Literature in VJ. He loves literature but he also loves producing babies lor. I think he has like 4 kids, all one after the other. Very aspiring.
Why do i keep digressing?!?!?! OK Let me try again!
I remember sitting alone in the VJC canteen eating my favourite Nasi Briyani & Harris comes along and plops himself comfortably beside me. We started chatting and me, being the rebel without a cause juvenile delinquent with a 'Sia L*n' face, I told him I really didn't like the fact that I had so much to think, and that I seem to think about different stuff from people around me. That I felt almost ostracised by my own society. He then told me smth, which will stay with me forever, and serve as a reminder when I question my own thoughts.
Harris, in his quaint English accent & doing his best to convince me - "Judy. It doesn't hurt to have a brain"
Lofty ever said smth during one of his lectures, that stuck on to me and served as a reminder in my journey and exploration as a performer.
Lofty, in a more standard English accent & in an all-knowing tone - "You are only as good as your last performance"
So yeah doctrines in life, these words have become. And now speaking like Yoda, I have become.
I will be looking forward to seeing Mr L on June 15th :)
For now.. i need to get my hands on Harris & bug him to come with his big family.... now where's that English bugger.....
May 21st... counting down...
(scratches head, "Aiyoh. So many things to write. Start from where??? Hmm, okok;here goes...)
Hung out for abit with Queen Wong, Soothsaying Soothsayer Candice de Rozario, Luo & Ho He Hong (cast of Moonbird) while I procrastinated on whether I should head home, or to Sim Lim to get a new adaptor. My adaptor got screwed and refused to charge my laptop, so I was internet-less for a night. I tell you... to be internet-less in this day & age is really more of a handicap than say losing a limb lor. Everyone is connected through the WORLD WIDE web lor.
So anyway, after like 2 hours of idling with my cast, I managed to convince myself to get my fat a*s to Sim Lim & yes!! I got a new adaptor, for S$70 *heart winces*
But I guess it's all worth it, cos my laptop is up and running again, and I have my internet! :)
And now I can tell u my life story. Today basically was a very 'cock' day. It started with Moonbird show 1 & 2. Something cocked up during show today (Cock up #1), but it was ok i guess... I was rather unhappy re certain things that happened but o well.... as Jose Silva instructs, "Cancel unhappy thoughts! Cancel Cancel!!!"
Cock up #2
After I bought my S$70/- replacement no-brand adaptor, I proceeded to head home. I went to the bus-stop; that's right - to take the bus! I am usually a very MRT kinda person. But these days I been under the influence of some pals, namely Windson Liong Tze Hui & Audrey Luo Baoling, to take bus instead. So I boarded onto SBS bus 57, which should bring me home. At this point, I must say I am too lazy to narrate my story in details, hence, I shall summarise -
(in Ah Lian accent) i take the bus 57! want to go home one. then halfway i suddenly remember i have to go see my chiropractor in bishan. so i thot "oh sh*t! how ah? better get down the bus and quickly change to a bus that goes to bishan!!" i happily got off the bus. then i went to take a good look at the bus guide. my big eyes scan for the word 'bishan'. ahhh! found it! bus guide say BUS 57 goes to bishan. after seeing that, i have this expression on my face:

Cock up #3
The time was 1845 & I had to be at my chiropractor @ 7pm. I was at Novena & I thought, "bishan quite near la hor. take cab wouldn't be too expensive". So in I hopped into a Comfort Cab. Journey was quite comforting, but the fare wasn't. About 10 mins. had forgotten how crazy the cab fares are now & just like that, another 10 bucks spent meaninglessly. Now Taxi drivers also charge like masseuse...$10/min.
Cock up #4
After my chiro, I went home from Bishan.... all sweaty and tired 'cos SG has been ridiculously humid & warm the past few weeks... I was basically lugging my hot & sticky self home and after what seemed like an arduous and everlasting 5 min walk from Mrt back to my doorstep, I come to discover that I can't open the gate. Why? B'cos I had left my keys at home.
I think I quite amazing. Champion. Hopefully tomorrow will be a day with no cock-ups.
(hooootttt.... hoooottt.. heenn3 rrreeee4!!! ahhhh!!!!)

Let there be Light! Luminosita!
So, I woke up today at about 12 noon (slept at 6ish - was at The Arena yesterday. They had some Japanese dude & dudette who did a special performance there. got to know some hot shots too... more to reveal in time to come) and the first thing I did was to switch on my laptop and do some crazy spamming of my blog and concert details again heehee.
then Andy Tan appeared!! And then there was light!!! this is his blog
http://luminosita.livejournal.com/
He is my VJC tsd-mate. We had some crazy times together hehe. He's now working in some big bank stocking up some big bucks, and in his free time, he manages this website www.fifo.sg. He did a little interview with me and here it is!!!
http://www.fifo.sg/post/show/196
*raps* 'check, check, check it out, check it out, check it out...'
So far, I know 4 Andy's (3 Andy, 1 Andie), and they are all talented, promising young men.
Andy 1 is as above, Andy TAN! hot shot banker with rolling hard cash buzzing around him.
Andie 2 is a star in the making... He won Star Search erm 2007? or 2006? knew him when I wsa in MDC. I call him "Er Zi!!" (my son) 'cos we did a skit which I directed. I was his saggy-boobies naggy mother. fake one la.
Andy 3 is Woman's bf's best buddy. A funny & VERY lame but extremely hardworking fella, who doesn't watch soccer, smoke/drink or play computer games. Ya he's single, and he drives a Porsche wwwoOOoOoOoOOTT!!
last but not the least, Andy 4 is my manager aka Xiao Bai Lian aka Sugardaddy aka Kai Ye ... too long a list.
So parents, name your kids Andy. Girls also can be Andie's. No problemo.
Just had an interesting conversation with my brother-in-law, who's a hair stylist @ a hot-shot salon. he's quite a hottie too haha. anyway we were talking about the state of local films, and he made a rilly rilly interesting point. That most local films (and there aren't many so u might know which ones im talking about) only appeal to local audience. Local films have little, or no international appeal. Why is it that overseas film-makers can make films reflecting their own culture, but still appeal to us nevertheless? HMMMMMmmmMMmmMmMmMmMm, WAI WAI are u reading this??
Waiwai is a budding film-maker. He graduated from NYFA and came back to SG and has yet to make a film. He has done loadsa interesting stuff thou, like appearing on kidscentral as part of U-go, Me-go, NO PROBLEMO! And why am i advertising him? I have no idea... I have digressed yet again... anyway, WAI WAI, make a film soon, that has global appeal! and of course, needless to say - MAKE ME THE LEAD! bwahahahahaha. ha. ha. ha.
Interesting find of the day
Few days ago, i went to polyclinic for a referral to TTSH Voice Clinic to get my vocal cords checked. Went to pharmacy and chanced upon this nasal strip thingy. It's called Breathe Right and it's meant to 'help reduce snoring' and 'relieve nasal congestion'. I bought it for my mom la 'cos she snores and i sleep beside her so yeah, that's why I thought I should get it. I haven't showed her how to use it, and so today I have decided to be a guinea pig and experiment this new product myself.
Lemme explain the mechanism... it's ad adhesive strip that you paste on the spot just below the bridge of ur nose, and above the nostrils. not too high, not too low. the nasal strip then works like a 'flexible, "spring-like" band(s) (that) gently lift nasal passages open'.
Customer's Review:
Hmm... the nasal strip has been on my nose for the past 5 minutes. I checked in the mirror and concluded that I look considerably ugly with my nose being inflated on both sides (hence, no pictures). I now look like I had been out of a rhinoplasty gone wrong. that would mean i can't wear this nasal strip out, even though it's transparent. I would look like a freak.
Having said that, the strip really pulls my nostrils up with the 'spring-like bands' and no kidding, more air is getting sucked into my nose as i breathe and no sound! nostrils open big big, air go in quick quick. very liberating...
Verdict:
3/5 : Really opens up nasal passage ways but be prepared to look like Miss Piggy. Only to be used at home, or within vicinity of close friends & family members who have no trouble adjusting to a bigger-nosed you.
Breathe Right can be found at all local pharmacies. Get it now!

Get it now!

Wai Wai is my new fan
He reads ALL my posts. :)
And he can't comment on anything that I write about him because something's wrong with his blogger password. That makes me happy. teeheehee.
this is written in black, for clear viewing purposes.

Long Live Canto/MandoPOP!
Ladies & Gentlemen, as if to verify my own opinion (and of many of my close friends) that I am not on good terms with Mista Technology, my browser decided to do some funny thing to me and absolutely obliterated my previous post from the face of this earth.
*the font colour has been changed to maroon for enhanced viewing purposes. mostly for waiwai cos he can't read yellow.
So now, i am lazy to re-write everything, and it was quite pointless anyway. I was basically reflecting on my apparent lack of technological savviness after having checked out my friend's blog (he has been spamming his friends to read it hehe), which has like EVERYTHING in it. it's like a supermarket can? Got writeups, got advertisments, got videos got photos!!!
KiKi, i think ur blog should be called Kiki-Mart.
Anyway, let me help him spam hehehe. Everyone!
Check it out! http://justkikikidding.blogspot.com/
Kiki forms part of this 'Bitches' clan (along with Waiwai, and Pravin, who will probably be introduced in time to come) that was set up during our eventful and interesting days in.... Singapore Armed Forces, Music & Drama Company!!! Very big name. Anyway, Kiki's a great guy - cute, funny & very industrious! He's a magician so he's always got something new up his sleeves.
On a more important note, did I forget to mention that I used to sing in dodgy Canto-clubs where ah bengs, ah sengs, ah lians & ah hueys reign??? It's their universe and yes, i provided them with endless hours of pure entertainment, singing their favourite tunes from the forsaken Cantopop regime, and the now ever-rising Mandopop era. it was great fun, getting drunk and belting out Ah Mei songs, tearing my vocal chords apart. haha. no but seriously, it was a really great experience and i have enjoyed myself utterly with my bands & crazy crowd.
and why am i saying this now? bcos my 60++++ year old neighbour is, as of this exact moment, belting out "Qiu2 Fo2" (literal translation: Beg Buddha), backed up by his super duper indestructible home-karaoke system. Of course, it brought back many memories... For those who do not know what song i am talking about, please refer to your closest ah beng, or any closet ah bengs, if you know any.
for now, i shall leave you with this image of my MAGICIAN fren KIKI TTAAYYYY!!

Burn For Me
Is it just me, or is it frreeeaakkinn' hot today?!
Today's the last day of Moonbird rehearsals (at Geylang) and the walk from our lunch 'spot' to the bus-stop was absolutely unbearable. I genuinely felt like I was getting baked in the heat. Now I know how a chicken feels in an oven....
Yes people, our ozone layer is in a very precarious condition, which leaves us incredibly vulnerable to the sun beeeaaammss. *wipes sweat off brow*
but, what do we/can we do about it? *runs to air-con*
I'm just glad to be home right now, away from direct sunlight. Gonna take a shower and nap for abit be4 I meet Zach for Broadway Beng.
hot... too hot...

Wedding Bells R Ringin'
No, not for me. I am single, and very happily single!!!! :)
My brother decided to get married today. Ok, maybe he didn't decide today. He probably wanted to do it for a long time already, and finally found the right time, right person.
I don't know what I'm feeling about it; I guess I'm happy for him... but I have my own reservations about getting hooked, in Singapore. Everything is about money here. Sustaining oneself is already so jialat, let alone 2 people, 1 household and possibly children that will come into the picture in the future! Super stress. I think also headache, that's why I'm not one to opt for settling down. At least not till my career is on track...
BUT, having said that, most of my friends around me are happily attached, and some have lil' ones of their own to boast of. While I will never understand the joy of being a parent, or being married (until some LUCKY GUY, who, in the form of a tall, dark & handsome chivalrous knight with blonde hair & blue eyes HAHA, sweeps me off my feet and rescues me from my pool of worries and woes), I am sure those who are, are happy in their own way.
well, either way, I WISH MY BRO ETERNAL HAPPINESS WITH HIS NEW FOUND LOVE! :)
Things haven't been absolutely smooth for him, and so I truly deeply rilly rilly hope and pray that this is IT for him. sometimes, all we need is a little direction, plus a little motivation, and the right time, right person for MAGIC to work, and your life unfolds before you... in ways you never thought it would :->
ok... kinda distracted now 'cos am msn-ing with Waiwai & he's showing me u-tube clips of this amazing 15 yr old chanteuse from Philippines (Charice) ... where else right? Now, all singers coming from there lor.
anyways just to intro Waiwai, he's my dude. no no no, he's not my bf, he's just a really close guy fren who really sucks & can't spell (the condition is called 'cantspellitrightitis' - dude i have coined the term so u can't claim ownership of it bwahahaha). basically we don't like each other very much but for some reason, we talk alot of sh** with each other that we can't talk about with other people, and we happen to really like talking about those sh** so we're kinda stuck with each other for that queer reason... he's always asking me to treat him - OMG i MEEEAAANNN, this DUDE, such a lameass. always asking me for free food tsk tsk. I really recommend him to go to the gym... dat's what i'll say... har har har har.
I'll be watching Broadway Beng tomorrow, so will probably write a short review about it.
till then.
xoxo

Today I went to Changi Airport and had a bowl of Taiwanese bachor rice. It's quite nice actually! And it must be the least expensive food in the whole of Changi Airport! 5 bucks only lei. So between me and aNDy Wong, (that Xiao Bai Lian who didn't bring his wallet out -_-```), we spent 10 bucks, oh no no, I, ME, JUDEE spent 10 bucks and we had our stomachs filled.
so the story will continue tomorrow if, and when I meet the Xiao Bai Lian again but this time, he will be my Kai Ye and pay for me instead. And it won't just be 10 bucks lor... hiakhiakhiak...
Did a dance show today at Kreta Ayer CC - first time there. It was ok; we got to dance bare foot so that was GGRREEAAATT!!! My ankles and back are really giving me quite abit of problems already... so it was quite a relief. But tomorrow I'll have to dance with heels AND boots. OH well.... strruggling artiste is like that one... typical. Must do everything and anything to make a living.
So Xiao Bai Lian, if you're reading this you know what to do la hor.... keke

Day #2
Today was an interesting and rather fruitful day. As Woman says, things have been falling into place and really working out well for me, apparently. I still don't feel entirely secure because I have not reached my goal/s. But I am sure I will get there, no matter what.
I had my first lesson with Babes Conde today :)It was cool. Did 15 to 20 mins worth of warm-up and I just love that. Warm-ups are really really important, so I was glad that Babes took the time to go through that with me. She asked me what songs I intend to sing for WCOPA and I told her. Things are not finalised yet and I am still trying to decide what's best for me. So far I am quite definite about one song choice, so 3 more to go!
After my vocal lesson #1, it was straight to TAPAC for a short film audition. I get to play a bimbo/bitchy role. Haha, I'm so good at that. If I take up this role, it will be my 4th time playing a 'bimboitch'. It was fun and they were quite pleased with me! Thank god 'cos I was quite ill today. Kept sniffing 'cos my sinus was acting up again.
Made new friends today at Le Noir, Clarke Quay. Brought my Sugardaddy/Boss along too. Lured him with free food and free booze hahaha. Woman introduced me to her colleague's childhood buddies - many of whom are in the music industry and it was great. We had good fun over tapas and drinks. One of the guys, Marcel, asked me an interesting question. Basically he made me choose between my 2 loves.
Marcel: If you had to narrow it down, what would it be? Singing or acting?
Well.... really, it's very difficult for me to choose because I LOVE both. I couldn't live without music, and acting is the ultimate form of expression, for me.
Writing this blog has made me realise that I have become less reflective these days. I have been so busy working that I have not been thinking about stuffs. Not sure whether that's or good or bad thing, but I guess it could be a good thing since I have been told I think too much. But I do miss just sitting around, sipping coffee and letting my thoughts run wild.I'm listening to the song I recorded at InTunes few days ago, as I'm typing. It's a cover of Jie Tuo by A*Mei. I love this song, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. It's actually written by a Singaporean guitarist. It was originally in English and it was translated into Mandarin for A*Mei. It's a beautiful song - rhythmic, lulling, gentle, just lovely. music rocks. nothing beats it la...
Hopefully one day I will be able to sing an original song that would have such an effect on others too....
faith, hope, love, dreams.
believe.

This Is The Moment!
This is the Day!
Hello, hello! Yes, finally, I have set up my blog under instructions of someone who's going to be an important figure, or is already an important figure in my life, Andy Wong of ND Entertainment. Basically, this fella is now my boss, my sugardaddy, my 'Tua Eh', my 'Zong'... u get the picture.
